To get into the mine, you must attack the mercenary gaurding the cell. A message saying 'the gaurd looks very fierce, are you sure you want to attack him?' will appear, say 'Yes, i can take him!' and he will imprison you in the cell until you mine 15 'rock' for him (15 rock must be given to him in one go). Some quests require mining. The Knight's Sword Quest requires you to mine Blurite ore (listed in table above). The Hero's Quest requires a Mining skill level of 50 in order to demolish some rocks in your path on the way to the Ice Queen's lair. The Legends Quest requires a Mining skill level of 50 in order to demolish some boulders in the path. The Regicide Quest requires you to mine Limestone to make Quicklime for a bomb. A new Limestone Mine has opened east of Varrock on the Members-only path towards Canifis. It is located just north of the path, shortly before the Temple. Each Limestone rock can be mined 3 times before it is empty (and the respawn is quick). Runescape gold Limestone earns 26.5 xp. [Use a chisel on it (6xp Crafting) to make a Limestone brick. Both are useful in the Shades of Mort'ton Quest.]
